Tab Vault reads the URLs and titles of your open browser tabs, and the names and colors of your Chrome tab groups, in order to save them as named sessions that you create. This data is stored only on your own computer, using the chrome.storage.local API provided by Chrome. It is never sent to the developer or to any third party, with one exception described below for Pro license verification.
If you purchase Tab Vault Pro, the extension sends your license key and a randomly generated device identifier to api.lemonsqueezy.com to verify that your license is valid and to count activations against your device limit. No tab data, URLs, titles, or session content is sent as part of this verification. Lemon Squeezy processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Saved sessions remain in chrome.storage.local until you delete them yourself, either individually or by clearing all Tab Vault data. If you uninstall the extension, Chrome automatically deletes all data associated with it.
tabs: to read the URLs and titles of open tabs and to reopen them when you restore a session.
tabGroups: to read tab group names and colors and to recreate them when you restore a session.
storage: to save your sessions locally with chrome.storage.local.
alarms: to run scheduled automatic backups for Pro users at the interval you choose.
Tab Vault does not request host permissions, browsing history access, or any permission beyond the four listed above.
